Hii. If you’re thinking about applying to our Personal Batch or Crash Batch, please read this properly before filling out the form.
Michil is a personal mentor-led, community-based preparation ecosystem.
If you join, you become part of one of our batches and a combined test and leaderboard system.
Basically, you will be committing your entire admission season with us.
So, before applying, it’s important that you clearly understand the ecosystem.
This blog explains
how the batches work,
what you will get,
what we expect from you,
what the instructors will do,
how the tests and classes are structured,
and how the entire ecosystem works.
First things first: To get into IBA, you need to pass each section of the admission test.
To pass the admission test, you need to have an understanding of the curriculum
and practice more and more to reach your potential.
For this, you generally need to take some classes
and sit for tests on every topic covered in the IBA exam.
You should memorize a lot of words,
know how to write essays,
and plan your exam hall strategies well.
There are hundreds of other dos and don’ts that you need to actively manage.
If you do it all by yourself, it can get pretty nerve-wracking at times.
That’s the core problem this platform solves.
Here, everything you need to ace the test is organized in an effective and efficient manner
so that you get the best possible outcome within the least possible effort.
Everything is made fun and exciting through coins, stats, and games,
so that you feel like a contestant in a game show
where every part of your preparation gets covered in different levels of the game.
Admissions in our country are pretty fucked up.
We try our best to make it as easy and fun as possible for you without compromising on anything.
All the plans and offerings of our batches are very well thought out and improved over the years to ensure that.
Michil runs multiple personal batches right after HSC
and one crash batch a month before the IBA admission test.
Each personal batch has around 25-40 students
and their own personal instructor.
You can check out who the instructors are on our Instagram: instagram.com/tathirmichil.
Your instructor will teach you in class,
guide you on what to do after each class,
track your progress,
answer your questions,
and help you navigate the whole preparation process like a personal mentor.
This year, we have 10 handpicked instructors.
So we have a student capacity of around 300-400.
Last year, we had around 700 applications. This year, it'll be even more.
So rather than going for the first-come-first-serve model, we have a simple application process.
To apply, you need to fill out a questionnaire about yourself.
I go through the applications manually and keep selecting students that fit our ecosystem.
Since this can involve a very large number of applications, I begin the process early and complete it gradually.
The selection of the candidates is based solely on my personal evaluation of their answers and shouldn’t be interpreted otherwise. The application and enrollment process ends within weeks after HSC, so that you can join elsewhere if you don’t get selected here.
There is no application deadline until the classes start (in September). You can get the acceptance mail anytime after submitting the application, but the longer it takes to get accepted, the less likely it is.
If you don't get the acceptance mail by the time you want to start classes for IBA preparation, you can join mentors or whatever you want to. No other platform has an application process afaik, so you won't face any issue joining them anytime.
Make sure to sit for some assessment tests before you apply, or your application won't be accepted. This is just to make sure that you are well aware of the curriculum and have a decent shot at the test.
Your assessment results will not impact your application. But if you get very bad marks in the assessment test, going for IBA preparation is not recommended for you.
I go through all the forms and assign the batches myself. I split the students based on the form responses and my general idea of how each batch will function better.
I am not giving a batch-choosing option because it complicates the eco-system and weakens the healthy dynamic I want to create through gamified competitions, let's say batch-vs-batch challenges.
Instead of letting students worry about ending up in a “bad” batch, I want to make sure there are no bad batches and no bad instructors in the first place.
In fact, you don’t have to worry about anything at all! I am coordinating the entire ecosystem myself.
I will standardize and do the quality checks of the classes, tests, materials, and content.
The instructors will add their own touch on top of that and guide you personally.
I will also take some sessions for the students every now and then.
This way, I can make my best use of my experience and expertise without the constant pressure of dealing with hundreds of students every day, like I’ve dealt with in the past few years.
And you won’t miss out on anything either!
The personal batch includes
- complete guidance from the personal mentor you are assigned throughout the admission season
- 24(+) live classes and weekly guideline sessions on everything you need.
- PDF materials and recordings of each topic
(you need to buy them with the michilcoins you earn through tests)
- handpicked practice tests for each topic, from a database of 15,000+ well-curated questions.
- weekly combined live tests with leaderboard on the topics we cover in class
- 10 full-length offline mocks across Dhaka (after we cover the whole syllabus)
- access to the full website and all its features, performance analytics, leaderboard, and coin systems.
- tests and materials for BUP, JU IBA, DU B unit, DU C unit, and similar exams as well.
- many other helpful and exciting features, such as batch vs batch or 1v1 challenge tests.
We follow the Learn -> Practice -> Test approach,
which means every week you learn all about the topic and its questions:
the theories, approaches, tricks, shortcuts, everything from the weekly classes.
The materials are available on the website.
Then you sit for practice tests on those topics on the website.
These practice tests have handpicked questions sorted difficulty-wise so that you can develop your basics just the way YOU need for that particular topic.
Then you test yourself in the live test on the covered topics every Friday morning,
competing against hundreds of good candidates.
This process repeats until we cover the syllabus entirely.
After we're done with the syllabus, we'll take many full-length mock tests so that you get used to the exam hall strategies.
We'll take 10 offline tests across multiple centres in Dhaka, which you can sit for without any additional payment. We'll also take many full-length tests online.
This way, by aiming to pass each live test and farming more and more coins every chance you get, you prepare the best way possible! Be it classes, materials, practice questions, tests, offline mocks, or individual guidance, our personal batch covers everything you need. You don't have to stress out and go out of your way for anything else.
After you get selected, you are assigned a batch. You get access to everything after you subscribe to the website from the profile tab.
The payment is 10k in the first month and 10k in the second.
With these two installments of a total of 20,000 taka, you can keep access to the classes, materials, tests, and everything until all your exams are over (3-5 months) without any further payments.
You need to pay the first payment right before the classes start (probably in September).
The second payment is one month after the classes start (probably October).
There are no further payments in the coming months (November/December) for our offline tests, classes and sessions, website access, or anything.

There are four statuses of your application form:
1. Accepted - it means you text me and join the personal batch chat. We discuss further there.
2. Pending - it means I haven't gone through your application yet, or taking my time evaluating it.
3. Unsure - it means that I'm unsure about your application. If you don't get accepted before your own deadline or our deadline (September), you can enroll somewhere else.
4. Rejected - it means that you can't join the personal batch. You can enroll somewhere else if you like.

Notes:
1. If someone cheats or does something immoral in any way (using a calculator, searching answers online or with AI, sharing materials, etc.), they lose all their access to Michil.
2. The conduct and communication must be respectful at all times. If someone causes issues that hamper the experience of the batch, they will be removed.
3. Application to Michil doesn’t confirm acceptance in a batch or in your desired institute.
4. If you want to change your batch, you can consult with me about your reasoning. If the reasons seem valid enough, we might consider this. But generally, changing a batch is not an option.
5. There’s also a crash batch that launches one month before the IBA admission test. We’ll cover the details when it is time. If you can’t or don’t want to join the personal batch, you can opt for that later.
6. The personal batch this year is only for HSC 26 and its equivalent EM students.
7. You are expected to always keep your video camera on during classes. Your application will not get accepted otherwise.
